About The Role
Deaf Connect is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support our Education team to develop engaging and quality learning material which meets the organisations needs and all relevant quality and compliance standards.
Under the direction of the Team Leader – Interpreting Qualifications, you will be responsible for identifying and planning resource needs to meet course requirements for the Interpreting Qualifications (and other qualifications as required) within agreed timeframes.
You will be required to work on a short term project which has a focus on modification of our current training and assessment materials and the design of new materials for delivery to Deaf students in our Interpreting Qualifications.
This role can be located in any of the Deaf Connect offices.
About You
In your application, let us know if you have these key skills and experience:
- TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in instructional design with previous exposure to RTOs and AQF framework.
- Excellent writing skills with demonstrated experience writing VET materials linked to specific units of competency and qualification
- Experience working across a variety of delivery platforms, including eLearning interface (Moodle preferably)
- Thorough understanding of VET quality framework and ASQA Standards
- Microsoft Office suite
- Creativity and ability to design engaging content.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- High attention to detail
- Reliable time management skills and ability to complete projects within tight timeframes
- Ability to work well under little supervision.
- Auslan Skills
The following would be advantageous:
- Qualifications in Auslan and interpreting or relevant experience
- Demonstrated capacity to work within a team-oriented environment
- Deaf candidates are highly desirable for their ability to provide insights into Deaf-centred design and the Deaf student experience
