Position Summary |
UNM Center for Teaching and Learning is looking for a talented individual to join our team and serve in the position of Instructional Designer with Digital Learning program. The person selected for this position will report to the Senior Operations Manager for the Digital Learning program, will provide a wide range of instructional design, technical, and operational support for development of online courses within the University learning management system. The instructional designer will maintain their expertise in evidence-based strategies for online learning in order to assist instructors to analyze needs, determine goals, create objectives, design effective delivery methods, and curate engaging media and instructional tools. This may include tasks and projects such as instructional design, application of learning theories and evidence-based teaching practices, faculty development, multimedia development, course migration, and support documentation. The successful candidate will need to become proficient with the UNM Online Course Standards Rubric , review processes, and application for online courses. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong multi-cultural competencies to serve UNM’s diverse student and instructor population. They should have a demonstrated understanding of evidence-based educational strategies, in general, as well as familiarity with remote learning pedagogical strategies including: online, hybrid learning, and synchronous distance learning. They will be a team player with a customer service focus who can adapt to needs as they arise; they will possess refined interpersonal awareness and organizational skills; and they will need to understand and demonstrate alignment with Center for Teaching and Learning Values . Minimum Qualifications |
Master’s degree in a directly related field; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
