Job Description
Job Overview: The IRC in NY is seeking a candidate to join an exciting and groundbreaking program for asylum seekers in the New York City area through a pilot program funded by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with oversight by the DHS Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL). This new initiative the Case Management Pilot Program (CMPP) will provide case management and associated services and meaningful links to legal assistance to non-detained non-US citizens in immigration removal proceedings and could have national implications for the treatment of asylum seekers and others facing removal in the US.
The Intake and Outreach Coordinator supervises two Intake Specialists and oversees CMPP project activities from client outreach to enrollment. The Intake and Outreach Coordinator devises and implements systems to identify and screen eligible participants, share up-to-date information about programs, connect eligible community members with IRC services, and refer them to external service providers. This role additionally leads program orientation sessions and other outreach efforts to prospective clients and partner organizations to provide program information and review participant eligibility requirements. The Intake and Outreach Coordinator will report to the Senior Manager of Asylum Programming at IRC in NY.
