Unison also assists over 3,500 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness each year across Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, Geelong and Werribee.
About the role
The Intake Assessment and Planning (IAP) Worker provides high quality initial assessment and planning services to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness and work in close collaboration with other agencies and housing providers.
This role focuses on assisting individuals and families in housing crisis through conducting assessments, provision of information and referrals, with follow up and financial support where appropriate. The IAP worker will work as part of a close team delivering front-line IAP services and long-term housing in line with organisational values and policies.
About you
We are looking for someone who is driven by a client-centered approach and has experience working effectively and sensitively with diverse clients with complex needs. You will be empathetic and pro-active in assisting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and can adopt a flexible, responsive approach to assist individuals and families to achieve positive outcomes. Good teamwork, reliability, and communication skills are key to this role and delivering high quality services to people in housing crisis.
On offer
Full-time position, based in Seddon. Fixed term contract until October 2025.
Salary $87,576.32 per annum (plus super, salary packaging and leave loading)
