  • Part-time (3 days per week), fixed term Parental leave opportunity until 30/06/2025
  • Base salary ranges from $100-103k (pro rata) + super + 15,900 salary packaging available (pro rata)

About Take Two & Restoring Childhood

Restoring Childhood is part of Berry Street’s Take Two service. It focuses on providing therapeutic support to babies, children and young people to help them recover from family violence.

The Restoring Childhood Model (RCM) has been funded by the Victorian Government providing therapeutic services to children and young people impacted by family violence. Grounded in evidence informed practice, the RCM will involve specialist intake & triage, supported referrals and secondary consultations and medium term counselling.

Berry Street’s Restoring Childhood Program is Rainbow Tick accredited.

Key Responsibilities

This role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Providing high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the client, family and care team
  • Contribute to the delivery of clinical services comprising of traige, assessment and treatment of families referred to the Restoring Childhood team
  • Working cooperatively with both internal and external stakeholders, providers concerning the child development, mental health, and well-being needs of infants, children, young people, and their caregivers affected by violence.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records according to Australasian standards.

About You

  • A minimum Bachelor level or higher qualification in relevant field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Safe & Together™ Model of practice
  • Experience triaging and screening parents and children who have experienced family violence and the ability to identify therapeutic needs
  • Strong understanding of developmental trauma
  • An understanding of the issues involved in working with families with diverse needs – i.e. CALD or disability (physical, sensory, intellectual or psychiatric)
  • Training (e.g.EMDR) or experience in working with vulnerable children, adults and families, individually and in group work
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Sound understanding of the complexities of the service systems
  • Significant experience conducting clinical work with children.
