Your Opportunity
Our Northern Integrated Family Services (IFS) team provide outreach case management and support services to vulnerable children and families predominantly in the municipalities of Banyule, Nillumbik, Yarra, Darebin and Whittlesea.
Our team work within a partnership with the North East Metropolitan Alliance (NEMA) and The Orange Door to provide evidence-based support and appropriate referrals. The NEMA Alliance supports the partnership of nine partner agencies who provide Integrated Family services and manages the operation of the centralised intake body.
We are looking for someone that can provide high quality risk assessment and screening to clients referred to the service.
Your Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the IFS Intake and Case Worker include:
- Holding a caseload and providing case management intervention to children, young people and their families to provide preventative and secondary level support and intervention.
- Assisting families to strengthen their parenting capacity to build their child’s safety, stability and development.
- Establishing clear case work goals with using a family centered, strength-based approach.
- Effectively deliver and coordinate intake, screening and allocation practices in the NEMA Alliance.
Your Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone who has a passion for improving the lives of families and children and can demonstrate the following:
- Holds a Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Welfare or a related discipline
- Has the ability to actively engage and connect with families, young people and children in the delivery of family services programs, including those that may be unwilling to receive services
- Have an understanding of child and adolescent development and factors that may impact on a child’s development and experience with a range of family intervention models including crisis response, group work and mediation and the ability to undertake holistic assessments of children and young people within families.
