JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
We are searching for an Integrated Security Specialist to join our team at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. The Integrated Security Specialist is responsible for continuous enhancement and implementation of local security programs and procedures for classified information protection. This position is responsible for developing and administering local security programs and procedures for classified and proprietary materials, documents and equipment in support of USG and DoD programs. Works closely with program leadership, IA/ISSM staff, local security team members and peers in adjacent business areas to ensure appropriate security support across multiple offices. Coordinates with other local directorates and business area leadership to identify and support business needs. Leads Program security inspections and participate in security program self-assessment initiatives, ensuring compliance with security regulations prescribed by multiple USG agencies. Strong customer service skills are a must.

Responsibilities include:
Assist with the creation, accreditation, and close out of secure facilities in accordance with sponsor security directives
Assist with the development and implementation of security procedures required for classified contracts, to include the development and administration of Operational Security Plan(s) (OPSEC), Concept of Operation (CONOP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); develop,
Implement, and administer Information System Security Plans
Develop and present briefings/trainings, to include new employee briefings, initial clearance briefings, refresher trainings, information systems briefings, courier briefings, and foreign travel/defensive briefings
Assist with the management of Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment and documentation
Assist in the analysis of contract proposals to identify and respond to all security needs, including invoicing
Represent facility in periodic security inspections
process various security forms for personnel submitted to research sponsors, including initial submission and periodic re-investigations
Provide guidance to employees regarding classification and proper marking of documents and media
Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher plus ten years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required skills and experience includes:
An active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Experience working for the Department of Defense
Experience in industrial security
Excellent interpersonal skills, to include oral and written communication skills
Preferred skills and experience includes:
Experience with government security policies, Automated Information Systems security, physical security and personnel security
Your working location will be located in State College, PA.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$68,200.00 – $102,300.00
