ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary responsibility of the Integrated Service Response Worker (ISRW) is to establish strong connections and collaborations with various organisations, services, and community partners in order to develop a local plan for preventing domestic, family, and sexual violence in the Ipswich region. The ISRW works closely with DVAC’s CEO to deliver our strategic plan and plays a significant role in linking with key stakeholders and partners in the area.

This role involves coordinating events to improve the effectiveness and accessibility of the integrated response provided by organisations, with a specific focus on addressing the underlying causes of gender-based violence and ensuring that support services in the Greater Ipswich Region are equipped to identify and respond to instances of domestic, family, and sexual violence.

As an ISRW, you will have the opportunity to organise and lead community awareness initiatives, including events for Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month and the 16 days of Activism each year. You will also play a crucial role in education and training by delivering presentations and training sessions to local service providers and community organisations, raising awareness about the prevention of domestic, family, and sexual violence, as well as the services offered by DVAC.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in the human services field
  • Experience working in the domestic, family and sexual violence sector
  • Experience of working in a community-based organisation and a feminist framework
  • Experience delivering training and public speaking
  • Passion for working with the community to raise awareness of the drivers of domestic, family, and sexual violence
  • Ability to speak in public with confidence to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Current driver’s license, Blue Card (WWCC) & COVID Vaccination (or medical exemption)
  • All DVAC staff are required to complete a National Police Check upon successful offer of position.
