SCOPE OF WORK: The Intensive Case Management Intern will partner with the Intensive Case Management (ICM) team to address barriers to self-sufficiency for refugee and asylee clients, including clients with serious medical and mental-health conditions and survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. The intern will be responsible for providing comprehensive case management to ICM clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct client assessments at intake, 6 months, and 12 months after ICM enrollment

Work in collaboration with the client to develop individualized goals and service plans

Map community assets and help make referrals to community partners

Assist in scheduling and accompanying clients to appointments as appropriate

Assist clients with navigating healthcare and social service systems

Input case note documentation into IRC’s database

Communicate client concerns with ICM staff

Work on additional mezzo and macro projects to increase capacity of the ICM program
Minimum Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to obtain an AZ Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Ability to pass an IRC Background check
-
Cultural competency & consideration

Excellent written & verbal skills

Proficient with Excel & other Microsoft Office applications

Self-starter, ability to complete projects with minimal supervision

Access to reliable, insured vehicle

Interest in public health, social work, or international studies preferred, but not required

Computer literacy, data base experience preferred

Ability to take initiative and work independently

Empathy and open mindedness across-cultural environment

Strong organizational skills
-
Must be comfortable working with the LGBTQ community and Asylum Seekers

Note: This is an unpaid internship and you must commit to 15 hours a week for a 3-month minimum. For this role, there is an availability preference of two full days a week over the course of two semesters (with flexibility and time off for all school holidays).
Internship hours can only be completed between Monday-Friday 9- 5 pm.
