- This is a permanent full-time (35 hours week), opportunity where you will be Coffs Harbour.
- Provide intensive casework to families with multiple complex needs.
- Starting salary from $87,997 pa, plus super and access to salary packaging options.
About the opportunity
This role is responsible for providing casework and case management to families. Intensive Family Preservation caseworkers work with families to improve capacity and family functioning. The aim of the program is keeping children at home in a stable and nurturing family environment and to prevent families from entering the statutory child protection system.
Intensive Family Caseworkers support families who are often experiencing multiple issues that could include child protection, financial, housing, domestic violence, drug and alcohol, mental health and relationship issues.
About You
- Relevant social services qualifications, with at least 2 years case management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organised, systematic, thorough, with accurate case noting.
- Demonstrated ability to engage families in crisis and work in partnership with them to achieve their goals, using a variety of intervention strategies from the Homebuilders Model.
- Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues and an ability to conduct risk and family assessments using the strengths-based approach.
- Demonstrated commitment to children remaining with their own family provided they are safe.
- Current driver’s license and willingness to transport families.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support your caseload.
- Experience in supporting Aboriginal families in providing culturally sensitive interventions.
- Experience in the NSW Child protection system.
