Interim Marine Science Officer

BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through our
unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the
benefit of nature and people.
We are looking for someone to provide scientific and technical support to BirdLife’s Marine
Programme, including data preparation and analysis of seabird tracking data to inform
decision-making processes, and work relating to the identification, reassessment and validation
of marine IBAs and KBAs.
This person will undertake policy-relevant science analyses, particularly of BirdLife’s
datasets, as needed, including identifying priority sites for conservation, including marine
IBAs and KBAs, and spatial overlap with threats, to support to a range of global and regional
policy processes. The person will support and/or lead innovative research related to on-going
work. In addition to contributing to outreach communication from the marine science team.
