Position Summary:

DT Global seeks an Intern to support the Conflict Prevention, Stabilization & Transition (CPST) Practice. The CPST Practice designs and implements programming that:

  • Counters drivers of violent conflict and fragility to set the conditions for sustainable development;
  • Stabilizes volatile countries and regions that are strategic and political priorities for US foreign policy;
  • Elevates and amplifies the voices and decision-making authority of vulnerable groups most affected by conflict and violence;
  • Creates a foundation for communities to recover from violence, promotes social cohesion, enhances their resilience to conflict.

The Intern will work with CPST leadership to support thought leadership, business development, and program excellence. This is a part-time paid internship opportunity, and the internship is scheduled to take place from approximately September – December 2024.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Thought Leadership

  • Coordinate research activities including leading desk research, scheduling, and organizing and managing files.
  • Write technical thought leadership pieces related to conflict prevention, stabilization, and transition.
  • Assist with the design and drafting of technical resources and toolkits.
  • Participate in relevant virtual and DC-based events.
  • Support CPST Community of Practice and SharePoint administration, including updating the CPST practice websites and communications.

Business Development:

  • Support the identification and preparation for upcoming donor-funded opportunities by conducting thorough desk research.
  • Participate in business development meetings and proposal strategy sessions.
  • Contribute to live proposals, including drafting annexes and other written components.

Program Excellence:

  • Support PMUs on a variety of administrative tasks related to program implementation, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Support recruitment including filing of applications, short-listing candidates, Curriculum Vitae (CV) formatting and document gathering and verification.
  • Provide editing support on technical and progress reports.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Relevant college coursework in international development, political science, area studies, business administration or other relevant fields
  • Demonstrated interest in international development and a familiarity with USAID development programming preferred
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office tools required; experience with Power BI, SharePoint, Visio, and other relevant applications preferred
  • Strong writing skills and experience drafting reports
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency in languages beyond English is desirable

Anticipated Duration:

The period of performance would be from September 2024 to December 2024.
