Internship at the Central and West Asia Department / Regional Cooperation and Integration Unit (CWRD/CWRC)

1.INTERNSHIP TOPIC
Emerging areas for greening the Global and Regional Value Chains in the CAREC region

2. SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
Support in analytics, research, and related events to enhance regional cooperation in carbon markets, critical minerals,
decarbonizing global value chains, green skills, energy efficiency and other areas.

3. PERIOD OF ASSIGNMENT
• Duration :11 weeks
• Timing: January 2025 onwards

4. LOCATION
ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines

5. EXPECTED OUTCOMES
• Producing an operations-oriented analytical report on emerging topics for greater cooperation in the CAREC region with a focus on carbon markets, critical minerals, global value chains, green skills, energy efficiency and other topics.
• Support with side-events (such as CAREC session at the ADB’s Annual Meeting in May 2025)

 

Qualifications

6. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Master’s degree in development economics, economics, public policy, energy economics, energy, climate finance or other relevant areas.
• Intern must be enrolled at a school in one of the ADB member countries for the entire duration of the internship.

7. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
• Preferably with experience working on a research or development project in the CAREC region. Working experience on topics related to regional cooperation initiatives within the Central and West Asia region and with international organizations, thinks tanks, consulting firms on projects relevant to such sectors as carbon markets, critical minerals, green skills and energy sectors is preferred but not required.
• Excellent English communication skills. Knowledge of the Russian language is preferred but not required.

8. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
