Intern DNALC, High School

The DNA Learning Center has several openings for high school interns. Interns will join a team that is responsible for the preparation of materials for teacher workshops, student camps, and field trips.    

Perform laboratory prep work for educational programs held at DNALC sites, including classroom upkeep and equipment setup.
 Prepare reagents for use in experiments during middle and high school programs.
 Possible training of newly hired interns.
 Additional summer duties include assisting educational staff during classroom instruction and supervising campers during lunch.
 Participate in independent or team projects, mentored by DNALC staff members, which focus on translating current research into new experiments for the educational programs offered at the Learning Center.    

EDUCATION:  – Current high school student.
 EXPERIENCE:  – An interest in science.
 OTHER: Ability to work a minimum of two days per week (3-5PM) during the school year
Ability to work Monday – Friday (8-4PM) for 5-6 weeks during the summer.
Must be at least 16 years of age. Must have reliable transportation to/from the DNALC

Hourly rate: $16.00
