The global project houses the secretariat and coordinates the International Alliance to Reduce Health Risks in Wildlife Trade. As a communication and collaboration platform, it brings together actors from different disciplines and sectors to identify and implement evidence-based concrete interventions and to feed findings and results into relevant international discourses and policies – always with the aim of reducing health risks when dealing with wild animals and wildlife products along the entire trade and contact chain. In addition to working groups, monthly online events for knowledge communication, and various financing projects, a new component has now been added, which takes up the needs of partner governments for specific consulting services and identifies and makes them available with a tailored offer from experts from the alliance membership.

Your tasks

As part of the internship you will carry out the following tasks:

  • Support with communication tasks: Designing the website as a communication platform or creating drafts of communication materials
  • Organization and documentation of meetings and online events
  • Support with member management: answering inquiries and other tasks in the area of ​​knowledge management
  • Participation in the coordination of international political processes
  • Support administrative tasks of the Alliance Secretariat
  • Participation in cross-sectional tasks (e.g. gender and wildlife trade or indigenous representation)

your profile

  • Completed studies in environmental, social or political sciences, communication, biology, veterinary medicine or another relevant field of study
  • Initial knowledge of the topics of One Health, Planetary Health (or other integrated health concepts in which human medicine, veterinary medicine and aspects of ecosystem health are viewed holistically) and a strong interest in the field of wildlife
  • Ability to work in a team, work independently and have a sense of humor
  • Initial experience abroad in developing countries or other experience with international political organizations in development cooperation is an advantage
  • Very good spoken and written German and English language skills; Further foreign language skills would be an advantage
