Intern – International Climate Governance (ENSURED Project)

Position description

You will become a member of the ERCC team and contribute to the work of the Horizon Europe ENSURED project, a Horizon Europe-funded research consortium studying how the EU and its Member States can better defend multilateralism and make global governance more robust, effective, and democratic. You will primarily contribute to the study of UNFCCC decision-making and assess the EU’s role in global climate governance, as well as the potential transformations of the UNFCCC regime and its negotiation format.

  • You will participate in the international team that carries out this research project;
  • You will do desk research on relevant topics and assist in data collection;
  • You will assist in conducting interviews and summarise findings from interviews and meetings in written form;
  • Other related tasks as required.

Your background and qualifications

  • You are enrolled as a student for the full duration of the internship, and about to complete a Master in economics, international relations, political/social sciences, or equivalent;
  • You have a demonstrable interest in international climate negotiations, EU climate policy, and the UNFCCC process and Paris Agreement implementation. You have conducted research assignments on one or more of these topics;
  • You have an excellent knowledge of English, both orally and in writing.
