Job description
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is working on behalf of the German Government in over 130 countries around the globe. Under the Indo – German Energy Programme, the project “Energy Transition with DISCOMs in India” supports the Ministry of Power in India in building an economically efficient and socially and ecologically sustainable energy supply by supporting DISCOMs. The project is working with the Ministry of Power (MoP), the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and selected DISCOMs in India on various topics associated with data analytics, integration of RE and EV in distribution grids, asset management and operation & maintenance (O&M) of distribution networks. The Intern will also support in the preparation for the upcoming Energy project RE500 as a shared resource.
Your tasks
- support in Technical Research on smart metering solutions, applications of AI, and RE/EV integration in distribution network
- support in stakeholder coordination and management
- support in knowledgemanagement
- support in events and workshop design and implementation
- support in project management
Your profile
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree or recently graduated (within last six months) in a field relevant to the project, e.g. Energy Policy, renewable energy, energy access or energy efficiency, Environmental Economics, Engineering, Management, or social sciences
desired experiences:
- previous experience in the power sector
- previous experience in international cooperation preferably outside out Europe (desired)
- prevous experience in working in the field of smart metering, RE/EV integration, data analytics
- previous experience in designing and implementing workshops, eventmanagement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with an international team implementing programme activities across India
- Good self-organisation and general organisational and planning skills based on past work or university experiences. Experience in knowledge management, in the use of MS Teams is desirable. MS office tools are standard requirement
- Fluency in English (minimum C1) and Native level German (C2) is required

We pay a monthly stipend of €2.134,52 (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
