Introduction
The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. The GCF has a portfolio of 286 projects across 133 countries, with a total commitment of USD 15.9 billion to date.
In 2023, an additional USD 12.8 billion was pledged, to support our new strategic and programming cycle from 2024-2027; our ambition is to grow to become at least a USD 50 billion fund by 2030. Rooted in the core objectives of impact and efficiency, access and a focus on the most vulnerable, and mobilizing a much higher scale of public and private sector financial flows for climate action we have an unparalleled scale of resources, which, together with our risk appetite and flexibility allows us to bring together different partners and stakeholders in innovative partnerships for profound impact.

Internship Assignment
The Intern will provide support to the Board Affairs Team (BAT) of the Office of Governance Affairs. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by working with the BAT in preparing for Board meetings, gaining valuable mentorship and professional development opportunities. The intern may also assist with other related tasks within the BAT.
Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the BAT, the Intern is expected to:
- Support in the activities relevant to the organization of Board meetings, including preparatory sessions and cross-Secretariat coordination;
- Assist in conducting and following up of Board consultations on policy items;
- Assist in general documents-related work, including the Board documentation process; and
- Assist in any other related tasks as required.
Requirements and qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s or PhD program in business, finance, climate change, sustainability or related fields;
- Knowledge and experience with investments, financial institutions and/or climate change issues.
- Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage;
- Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
- Excellent writing and presentation skills;
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
