EXPECTED OUTPUTS AND TIMELINES Throughout the duration of the contract, the consultant will resolve issues related to SQL Server ETL packages, optimizing data integration and processing workflows to enhance system performance and reliability. 31 August 2024: Improved user experience of the Project Portal deployed. This entails refining the portal’s interface and functionality based on established design guidelines, aiming to enhance usability and accessibility for users. 31 December 2024: Deploy new reports defined as per the work plan. These reports are to be designed to meet specific organizational requirements, providing critical insights and data analytics to support decision-making processes and project management.

Duties and Responsibilities
ITC is a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organisation for trade-related technical cooperation in developing countries. Within the ITC, the Information Technology & Systems (IT&S) department operates under the Division of Programme Support (DPS). As part of its IT strategy, IT&S is actively involved in various ongoing information development projects. To support these projects, IT&S is currently seeking a qualified international consultant. The International Consultant, under the direct leadership and supervision of the Chief, Information Technology & Systems, and guided by the Manager, Information and Development Unit, will be responsible for the following tasks: Implementation and Technical Support for ITC’s Project Portal: • The consultant will be tasked with designing, developing, integrating, and deploying new features for the Project Portal, ensuring that these enhancements align with the business owner objectives and user needs. • The consultant will undertake improvement of the user experience of the Project Portal. This will be achieved by following established design guidelines and standards to design and deploy intuitive interface for users. • The consultant will design and implement solutions to integrate the Project Portal with other internal and external systems. This involves ensuring compatibility and seamless data exchange between systems, enhancing the overall functionality and efficiency of the portal. • The consultant is expected to actively troubleshoot and find effective solutions to any technical or operational issues encountered with the system. This includes diagnosing problems, proposing and implementing fixes, and monitoring the system to prevent future issues. Contribution to the 2024 Workplan: • Engage in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of various IT projects. • Work in collaboration with clients and other IT systems officers to implement solutions as per IT 2024 work plan. • Provide continuous support and maintenance for IT applications, systems, and projects. • Develop user manuals and conduct training sessions related to these IT solutions. Copyright Clause: The consultant has to ensure that she has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform her services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the consultant shall request the prior written permission from ITC. Qualifications/special skills
Undergraduate degree (BA/BSC or other) in technology, computer science, engineering or a related field. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing web applications. Experience developing web frontend applications using ReactJS. Previous work experience on SQL database. Experience in NodeJS based web development.
Languages
Advanced written and spoken English.
