tendersglobal.net

This position offers the successful applicant a fantastic opportunity to join the Centre’s large and expanding International Foundation Programme (IFP) team and contribute to the continued development the University of Bristol IFP as a world-class provision that attracts diverse, high-quality students and provides them with an excellent educational experience.

As the Computer Programming Subject Lead, you will develop the Centre’s Level 3 provision of the new Foundations of Computer Programming unit on the IFP. You will be expected to design and deliver the scheme of work, materials and assessment tasks in line with the unit specifications to ensure that they enable students to succeed not only on the IFP, but also on their chosen undergraduate programme. You will be working in line with the Centre’s principles of development, reflexivity, autonomy, collaboration, transparency and transferability. The ability to teach an additional IFP subject unit, such as mathematics, would be an advantage.

  • You have teaching experience on courses in the field of computer programming/computer science. This can be from Secondary, Sixth Form, Further or Higher Education.
  • You are an enthusiastic, experienced professional who can work as part of a dynamic teaching team.
  • You are looking for great balance between an average of 12 contact teaching hours per week, and opportunities to develop the unit and yourself through personal CPD.

Flexible working is available from home or office, when not teaching or attending meetings. Regular Centre-lead CPD sessions, as well as the University sessions are available to all staff.

For informal queries, please contact Tim Walker [email protected]

This advert will close at 23:59 GMT on Monday 12th February 2024.

We recently launched our strategy  to 2030 tying together our mission, vision and values.

The University of Bristol aims to be a place where everyone feels able to be themselves and do their best in an inclusive working environment where all colleagues can thrive and reach their full potential. We want to attract, develop, and retain individuals with different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives – particularly people of colour, LGBT+ and disabled people – because diversity of people and ideas remains integral to our excellence as a global civic institution.
