This role can work remotely from anywhere in the USA. You must be legally authorized to work in the US.  Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship.  

 

What will you do?

As an International Program Associate, you will support Bixal’s growing portfolio of international projects, including projects with long-term country offices based outside the US as well as US-based projects with international clients. You will work under the close supervision of an International Program Manager and in close collaboration with project teams, including Directors and Chiefs of Party. Major tasks are described below, and other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 

Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate across country office and home office teams to promote operational efficiency, collaborating with team members to implement key activities and assist with day-to-day tasks.
    • Adhere to best practices to ensure compliance with organizational and government regulations.
    • Support the development, monitoring, and maintenance of project budgets
    • Support the drafting and execution of consultant, subcontractor, and other vendor contracts.
    • Support home office and country office team members with procurements, purchasing, expense reports, travel arrangements, budget tracking, and other financial operations.
    • Collaborate with teams to manage assigned project operations and duties such as project documentation, purchase order tracking, and recruitment.
    • Support start-up and close-out activities for country offices, as necessary.
    • Oversee project knowledge management, ensuring project records are organized on project SharePoint sites in compliance with the Bixal Quality Management System (QMS).
    • Help design, document, and implement processes for key business operations and program support, and contribute to operational process improvement.
    • Support project and client events with notetaking and other administrative tasks.
    • Support occasional MEL technical activities, such as data analysis and visualization, survey programming, and data collection notetaking.
    • As appropriate, play an active role in new client acquisition and new business development, such as writing sections of technical proposals and reviewing content written by others.
    • Perform other organizational or programmatic duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Health or related subject;
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience;
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a non-typical office environment
  • International cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work hours that suit clients or consultants in other time zones
  • Ability to follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn
  • Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with USAID contracting and regulations.
    • Coursework in international development or work/study experience abroad
