International Program Instructor – Starting June 7th

Our mission is to challenge students to broaden their perspectives through new experiences and environments, to inspire them to develop lifelong skills, to discover and explore their passions, and to empower them to reach beyond self-imposed limitations and take charge of their future.

Instructors mange group dynamics, facilitate a safe and welcoming environment for students and act as mentors as the group travels, gains skills and observe local vet clinics. 

Responsibilities include: managing health and safety, maintaining a positive attitude through challenging circumstances, leading games, participating in service-learning activities, teaching, developing students’ personal growth, facilitating inclusive group dynamics and demonstrating respectful travel.

Broadreach Adventures are fun, rewarding and demanding. Instructors will lead a 21 day program based in Costa Rica. 

Training in Raleigh, NC June 7th to June 13th. Instructors would lead a program in Costa Rica from June 15th to August 5th. 

Food, Accomodations and flights would be included.

Qualifications:

• Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification or the ability to obtain the certification. Broadreach hosts a WFR certification courseJune 1 to June 6 in Raleigh.
• Strong desire to work closely with teens and young adults to educate and support their growth academically, physically and emotionally.
• Group facilitation experience and an understanding of group dynamic and conflict resolution concepts.
• Passion for mentoring and motivating students and fostering cultural learning.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, able to work without direct supervision and adaptable to often changing, dynamic environments.
• Strong organizational skills to manage budget, program expenses, student documents, etc.
• Strong Spanish speaking skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• International travel experience.
• Program leading or experience working with teens or young adults outside of the classroom.
• Willingness to learn and share cultural norms with students.
• College degree preferred.
• Some programs require a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a manual car.
