Position description

Under the supervision of the Chief of Member Services, the intern will support the Member Services Unit in strengthening engagement with GEO’s 116 Member governments, aiming to improve Member participation, ownership, policy advocacy, and financial commitments to GEO.

The intern will be responsible for:

• Maintaining and updating contact information for GEO Members, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records of GEO Principals, Alternates, Focal Points, and other key contacts in the contact management system, with an initial review completed by April 2026.
• Conducting a quantitative assessment of Member engagement based on participation in GEO governance bodies and key events in 2025–2026, and preparing a report by October 2026.
• Researching, drafting, and updating GEO Member profiles, with at least 20 profiles developed or revised by December 2026.
• Improving Member-facing content on the GEO website to ensure it is accurate, current, and user-friendly, and assisting with content generation for the bi-monthly Member newsletter (e.g., blog posts).
• Supporting Member engagement activities led by the Chief of Member Services and the Member Services Associate, including preparing background materials, organizing meetings, taking notes, and tracking follow-up actions.
• Providing general administrative and research support to the Member Services Unit as required.
