About the Position
The CGIAR Research Initiative “Mitigate+: Research for Low Emissions Food Systems” works in four countries (China, Colombia, Kenya, and Vietna, focusing on reducing food system emissions and the predicted consequences of climate change (Con future generations, sustainable development, and social equity. The research program is structured into four work packages (W: strategy and development planning (WP1), closing evidence and data gap (WP2), living landscapes laboratories (WP3), Scaling low emissions, and climateresilient food systems development (WP4). Mitigate+’s activities in Vietnam are designed to provide stakeholders with scientific evidence on GHG emissions from aquatic food systems, innovative solutions to reduce emissions at the food system level and address challenges in food systems discourse, policy development, and implementation to foster climate change adaptation and mitigation learning amongst stakeholders involved in aquatic food systems.
WorldFish would like to hire two (02) interns to support the implementation of Mitigate+ activities in Vietnam. The successful candidate will work with project leaders and researchers on the team to conduct data collection and analysis to understand the complex interactions of aquatic foods and climate change adaptation and mitigation to inform the public and private sectors in aquaculture and fisheries policies and investment planning and to develop and apply practical guidelines, tools, methods, and models for assessment GHGs emissions in aquatic food sectors and potential options for reducing GHGs at the food system level. Key Responsibilities
- Work with the project team and consultants to collect, validate, and analyze fisheries and aquaculture activity data and emission factors in the aquatic foods sector with high accuracy.
- Conduct a literature review and document the literature to understand emissions from aquatic foods and potential solutions to reduce GHGs in the sector at the food system level.
- Coordinate with team members, collaborators, and partners in implementing Mitigate project activities.
- Support blog posts, briefs, reports, and manuscript writing for quality output delivery.
- Assist in drafting presentations for Mitigate+ workshops, conferences, and meetings.
Requirements
This opportunity will be suitable for you if you have the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an appropriate social science field (economics, agricultural economics, environmental economics, agriculture/fisheries and aquaculture, statisticor any related field.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and statistical software such as STATA, R, or Python.
- Experienced in conducting literature reviews of academic publications, research reports, etc.
- Excellent command of the English and Vietnamese languages – both written and verbal.

- Able to multitask and work within deadlines and with minimum supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, hardworking with a good work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and to work in a teamoriented multicultural environment.

Location and Internship Duration
Successful intern(can work remotely from home country. The successful candidate should be available to commence the internship as soon as possible until 31 December 2024.
