Join us in our exciting and diverse mission to strengthen Evidence and Learning in DRC globally. You will get to engage with monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) professionals in all parts of the organization and will learn a lot about DRC’s work for people affected by displacement.

Who are we?

The Division for Effectiveness, Knowledge and Learning is all about evidence; its analysis, documentation, and sharing. We host global advisors for programme results and monitoring, for data collection and data analysis, for accountability to people, aid transparency, and evaluation. Our technical expertise covers the full spectrum of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL). We provide technical support to DRC’s operations and build capacity of staff in these areas. We manage the evaluation function for DRC, and lead on DRC’s commitment to the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) and the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI). In addition, we provide global coordination for DRC’s strategy. Through our work we contribute to DRC’s programmes to be effective, and we collect and share evidence of DRC’s effectiveness, building knowledge. We steer organizational learning, through global processes and supporting learning in field operations.

About the internship

The overall objective of this internship is to assist our global team in the analysis of different sources of information, for wider organizational learning. The intern will also play a leading role in our annual capacity assessment of the MEAL profession in DRC, which involves primary data collection and analysis, and the subsequent engagement with the global professional network in our annual network event.

Specifically, we expect the following key tasks:

  • Qualitative data analysis and management
  • Production of short reports of synthesized evidence as relevant and needed
  • Conduct of internal survey and subsequent data analysis
  • Coordination of professional network activities

We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence the tasks, subject to what is relevant for your study programme.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be interested in evidence generation and evidence analysis. We are looking for strong ability for analytical thinking, solid research skills, and an ability to express evidence well in writing and verbally. We are a vibrant and flexible team and encourage adaptability and commitment to constant learning. Familiarity with qualitative analysis is a big asset. We are flexible about your thematic area of study if you have the right skill set.

It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university in order to be considered for the internship.

We offer

Contract length: 4-6 months subject to study requirements and further dialogue

Workplace: DRC Headquarters located Borgergade 10, Copenhagen

Start date: from 1st September 2024. We can be flexible on the start date.

Working hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.

The internship is not paid but we offer:

  • 2,08 (unpaid) vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or be accumulated
  • Free lunch in our canteen (subject to our canteen being open)
  • Free participation in office-wide social events

Please note that if you do not have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa), you will need to apply for it yourself, should you be selected for the internship. This process can take up to three months from initiating the process. You can read more here.
