The ILO internship program provides talented individuals with the opportunity to:

  • better understand relevant issues at the international level, participating directly in the work of the Office and in the application of ILO principles, programs and strategies;
  • acquire practical experience at the ILO directly related to the area of ​​communication.

The internship program is not intended to open career prospects at the ILO, nor should there be expectations of employment upon completion of the internship.

Please only apply for the internship if you meet the following criteria:

  • You do not have any close relatives serving at the ILO.
  • This is your first internship at the ILO (only one internship is allowed).

Learning areas:

As a communication intern, the person will work on the following tasks:

  • Support the Communication Assistant in maintaining the ILO presence on the social networks of the subregional office.
  • Support the creation of content for social networks (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram).
  • Support in the writing of messages, the design and production of materials for social networks and the production of videos for social networks.
  • Select and edit photos for social media posts.
  • Monitor trending topics on social networks to provide ideas that enrich the social media strategy.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data results.
  • Assist in writing notes for the website.
  • Support the Communication Assistant in press management.
  • The person undertaking the communication internship will be exposed to multiple topics in the world of work and will gain a solid understanding of the ILO, its work and the world of work in general. At the same time, she will have the opportunity to expand her knowledge of digital communication as part of the communication area.

Required profile:

  • The intern will work with the communication assistant supporting the creation of content for the social media accounts of the subregional Office, as well as attending to other communication tasks such as press management and news monitoring.

Education:

  • The candidate must be enrolled in the last year of a bachelor’s or graduate program in ccommunication, journalism or public relations. or completed less than a year ago.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in social media management and press management will be an advantage.

Languages:

  • Excellent command of Spanish and advanced knowledge of English.
