If you are thinking of entering the world of international organizations and green growth, an internship at the GGGI could be the ideal start for you. The objective of the internship is to give you a first-hand experience of the day-to-day working at GGGI. The Internship Program is a project-oriented learning opportunity for students to gain experience through research assignments based on GGGI’s current operational needs. GGGI welcomes motivated, open-minded, and self-directed individuals to apply. You will be given an opportunity to work directly with outstanding and inspiring Green Growth professionals, participate in workshops and meetings, and contribute to analytical work as well as innovative rethinking on sustainable green growth. Interns will be selected based on merit and cannot be children or siblings of current GGGI staff members.
Are you enrolled in a Masters or in a Ph.D. program, or in the final year of a Bachelors program?
Have you completed Bachelor’s, Masters or PHD Degree in last 12 months?
Are you between a first degree and graduate school (gap year)?
Do you have excellent fluency in both oral and written communication in English?
We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the Korea Liaison Unit (KLU) to support the Unit in managing the BIMP-EAGA ROK Cooperation Fund (BKCF) as well as assisting relevant tasks for Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects of Korea. The tasks given throughout will not only provide the intern an opportunity to gain understanding of the works within an international organization, such as project financing mechanisms, but also insights into the Korea ODA project development process. This position is for the duration of six (6) months.
The assignments for BKCF management will include the following, but not limited to:

The assignments for BKCF management will include the following, but not limited to:
- Assist preparation for BKCF 4th Call for Proposals by revising guidelines and related documents,
- Reviewing and shortlisting submitted proposals, and coordinating the review process by supporting communications with relevant institutions,
- Managing ongoing BKCF projects, by monitoring project progress and their technical/financial aspects and maintaining the BKCF project database up to date,
- Tasks also extend to supporting other tasks for Korean ODA projects, such as:
- Aiding technical support in project-related documentation, including Project Documents (P/Ds), reporting materials, meeting minutes, and communications letters,
- Supporting communications with internal and external stakeholders and prepare relevant communication materials to coordinate meetings or follow-up events, and
- Translating relevant documents from Korean to English and vice versa.
Eligibility:
- Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s, or Ph.D. program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.
- Possess an excellent command of business English and Korean.
Qualification:
- Recent graduate in a Bachelor’s or Master’s- or enrolled in a PhD-level program in international studies, climate change, economics, development economics, accounting, business administration, management & public administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience in developing ODA projects or participating in or managing the cooperation fund, or relevant experience in working with an international organization is an asset.
- Experience in financial management and/or project budget management would be an advantage.
- Proven computer literate in standard office software applications skills, especially good knowledge of Excel or ability to quickly master other software.
- Strong analytical skills with a self-drive for data analysis, modeling and interpretation
- Ability to drive themselves from problem-detection to problem-solving, to organize diverse information, and to work/deliver under time pressure.
- Excellent English communication skills, particularly writing and/or editing experience in the field of financial modeling or economic statistics.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds, and willingness to learn from others.
