The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called “Grow Green” Program) provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. We encourage qualified women and men, in particular, nationals of developing countries, with diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds to apply.
We are looking for a talented individual to join the Climate Unit of the GGGI Lao PDR Country Program, with a focus on Green Growth, Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation, and SDGs.
The assignment will include the following but not limited to:
  • Support the project manager and team to conduct technical research, conduct survey, interview, collect data and prepare report related to green growth, climate change, and SDGs of Lao PDR.
  • Engage with stakeholders and government officials at various line ministries associated with the above sectors, including preparing official letters, invitations, coordination, and communication.
  • Provide logistics and administrative support to the project, particularly to plan, prepare meetings, prepare budget, organize workshops, trainings, mission and or visits.
  • Support in Lao – English – Lao translation in both written and oral.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to GGGI Lao PDR Country Program.
Engagement:                  
Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree, be enrolled in a (final year) Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.
  • Possess an excellent command of English.
Qualifications:
  • Graduated from a bachelor’s degree, be enrolled in a (final year) Master’s or PhD program in Environmental science, environmental engineering, engineering, economics, statistic, international relations, law, and other related fields.
  • Experience/ education on international development or in a field related to the Institute’s work;
  • Excellent command on spoken and written English and Lao.
