The Human Resources Branch (HRB) provides and maintains a quality human resource and workforce management framework to ensure the Secretariat can fulfil its strategic and operational objectives efficiently and effectively. Amongst others, the Branch is responsible for recruiting, performance management, policy advice, employee development programmes and overall strategic resource planning.
Main Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of Head, Talent Development, and in coordination with the Senior Talent Development Assistant and Senior Talent Management Assistant, the intern will be responsible for providing substantive and operational support for talent development initiatives, plans, evaluations, and reports including:
Supporting the Talent Development team in conducting all aspects of the organisation-wide Learning and Development Needs Analysis (LDNA) to identify competency gaps and learning needs. More specifically, the exercise will require the team to:
Conduct a survey with all personnel:
- Hold focus group meetings and individual interviews with key stakeholders transcribing notes from these sessions, and extrapolating key themes and insights to share internally, and where relevant for wider dissemination;
- Analyse the results of the data collection process
- Examine existing tools, processes, platforms, resources, and the like that exist for learning and development, identifying how these can support the identified needs;
- Review best practice literature on pre-identified learning and development topics, and supporting the development of executive summaries;
Draft and present the results:
- Reviewing learning and performance data and preparing reports upon request, incorporating trends from quantitative and qualitative data collected and effective data visualisation.
- If and as needed, assisting in preparing, facilitating and delivering webinars and other knowledge-sharing processes.
- Supporting user experience across Learning and Performance Management Platforms (e.g., Talentsoft), Webinar tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom), and other digital learning and design tools (e.g., Articulate Rise, Canva, Mentimeter, Padlet, etc.), ensuring the quality, accuracy and timeliness of all inputs made.
- Assisting with the coordination and preparation of digital and social media assets for the different initiatives
- Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Enrolled in and have completed at least one year of a human resources management, public or business administration, industrial relations, psychology or other social sciences degree programme in a university (or equivalent tertiary institution) or; in a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher) or;
- have graduated from a university or a graduate school with a human resources management, public or business administration, industrial relations, psychology or other social sciences degree, within a year prior to the commencement of the internship and;
- be a citizen of an OPCW Member State(https://www.opcw.org/about-us/memberstates).

Languages:
- Fluency in English is essential and a good working knowledge of one of the other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.
