Job Description
This internship position at Bosch’s Brussels-based policy office offers an exciting opportunity to support strategic advocacy and policy advisory activities of the Bosch Group towards European Institutions and EU Member States. You will be working as an intern in the field of research & innovation and microelectronics policy, playing an active role in growing Bosch’ engagement with European Institutions by identifying and reporting on strategic advocacy opportunities and initiatives, liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, co-developing a positive policy framework for Bosch in Europe.
Your main tasks will include:
- Monitoring of relevant EU policy files, regulations and initiatives to Bosch (with focus on research & innovation, microelectronics and investment topics).
- Preparation of policy and regulation reviews, position papers, political briefings and memos on high-value topics for Bosch management and for meetings with representatives of the EU institutions.
- Taking active ownership over screening + monitoring of EU programs and initiatives with focus on European funding for Bosch technologies and products, as well as updating of Bosch internal EU funding database.
- Act as an internal facilitator for EU policy-related information dissemination, creating blog entries for “Bosch Connect” on relevant developments across EU institutions.
- Gather information and feedback from across Bosch business units, and collaborations on cross-policy issues with team-members based in Germany.
- You will be responsible for the contact management to key public and private stakeholders across the research, innovation and microelectronics industry ecosystem.
- Participation in meetings of European associations where Bosch is member and in European public events, conferences and workshops in Brussels.
- You will support management in preparation and execution of policy-focused events, workshops and meetings.
Qualifications
- You are currently a student or have recently completed your studies in a business, technology, international relations or other policy-related field.
- Strong interest in technology, innovation, and industry-related topics is a must.
- You have first experience with EU policy (e.g., through extracurricular activities), knowledge of European institutions and understanding of EU decision-making procedures.
- Team-player with ability to manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on, self-starter attitude.
- Keen interest and willingness to work in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment with competing priorities and workloads.
- Oral and written fluency in English and German is a must. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
