Responsibilities:
- Assist the team of associates and partners with research and legal analysis of legal questions related to EU sanctions and export control and EU litigation;
- Assist lawyers in litigation cases before the Court of Justice of the EU and national courts (preparing and organising case files, research of legislation and jurisprudence, developing legal arguments);
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, opinions, court submissions;
- Monitor case law of the EU Court of Justice, legislative and policy developments and publications in the area of sanctions; and reporting to the team;
- Organise senior lawyers to provide strategic legal advice to clients.
Qualifications and experience:
- Law degree from a reputable university, and strong academic records;
- Excellent knowledge of EU law and EU institutions;
- Good understanding of EU regulations and policies related to sanctions and export control;
- Prior experience in EU institutions (EU Commission, Council, CJEU) in the field of sanctions would be a distinct plus;
- Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently;
- Native/Excellent English language skills (oral and written) and a working knowledge of at least one additional European language.
