Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team of associates and partners with research and legal analysis of legal questions related to EU sanctions and export control and EU litigation;
  • Assist lawyers in litigation cases before the Court of Justice of the EU and national courts (preparing and organising case files, research of legislation and jurisprudence, developing legal arguments);
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, opinions, court submissions;
  • Monitor case law of the EU Court of Justice, legislative and policy developments and publications in the area of sanctions; and reporting to the team;
  • Organise senior lawyers to provide strategic legal advice to clients.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Law degree from a reputable university, and strong academic records;
  • Excellent knowledge of EU law and EU institutions;
  • Good understanding of EU regulations and policies related to sanctions and export control;
  • Prior experience in EU institutions (EU Commission, Council, CJEU) in the field of sanctions would be a distinct plus;
  • Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently;
  • Native/Excellent English language skills (oral and written) and a working knowledge of at least one additional European language.
