JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you looking for an exciting internship opportunity with one of the world’s largest NGOs? Then you might be our new intern for the fall semester.

Who are we?

Most DRC resources generated in support of our work with conflict and displacement affected persons come from institutional donors such as the European Commission, UN agencies, and bilateral humanitarian and development funding envelopes from major donor countries. The Institutional Donors team is accountable for ensuring that DRC has a centralised and harmonised approach of high quality to addressing donors and keeping an overview of funding opportunities. The Institutional Donors team is working to increase DRC’s capacity and ambition to expand, deepen, and strengthen partnerships and fundraising activities with institutional donors.

About the internship

The Institutional Donor Unit (IDU) intern will be a part of a dynamic team spread across DRC HQ, DRC representations and DRC Ukraine. Further, there will be close collaboration with the DRC Regional Business Development colleagues and across HQ departments. The intern will support tasks related to researching donor trends and enhancing the internal communication of donor priorities, trends and news across DRC HQ, Representations and 41 country operations. The tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Creating a new format for donor monthly updates and supporting the roll out of the monthly updates.
  • Scoping of new funding opportunities.
  • Coordinating the development of new business development tools.
  • Developing structures of workspaces and Insite pages including building a new Business Development Tools and Resources subsite on the DRC intranet (Insite)
  • Researching thematic trends across donors
  • Helping to organise meetings and appointments as well as produce and distribute minutes of meetings.
  • Providing inputs and supporting the development of external products such as presentations.

Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to delve into various learning opportunities such as courses or presentations relevant to the IDU unit and the broader organization. We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence the internship, subject to what is relevant for your study programme.
