The practice serves the entire financial services sector including Financial Technology, Insurance, Asset Management and Depositories. It is the leading bank M&A advisor in the US.
Piper Sandler in Europe has been one of the fastest growing and most active investment banking teams since the acquisition of the Valence group in 2020 and developing the Financial Services team in Europe presents many synergistic opportunities given the strength of the franchise in the US.

We are currently looking for an associate with previous experience in Financial Services to join our growing team in London.

Our associates work closely with senior bankers to make a real impact on our clients’ business through involvement in all facets of investment banking activities including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, equity and debt offerings, and strategic advisory work. They are directly exposed to clients and senior bankers.

– Develop key industry themes, ideas and materials for effective business development

– Assist in the devising and preparation of client materials and in all aspects of execution work

– Participate in the coverage of key clients and interact with senior stakeholders

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent (2:1 or above)

Requirements:

– Minimum 3+ years Investment Banking / Corporate Finance experience

– Curiosity, appetite for entrepreneurship and willingness to step-up are all essential

– Strong modelling skillset

– Deep understanding of financial institutions

– Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

– Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships and rapport

– Motivated, team player with a desire to work in a fast paced, challenging environment

– Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously

– Positive work ethic and a high level of enthusiasm, initiative, and leadership potential
