PROVIDE A SHORT SUMMARY OF THE JOB VACANCY
Working under the overall supervision of AVRR Programme Officer and direct supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of the “Migrant Protection Return and Reintegration for Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA)” with a special focus on strengthening the governance of migration, migration data management, and monitoring and evaluation
Provide overall monitoring support to IOM Gambia in the day-to-day implementation of direct assistance, reintegration assistance and awareness raising activities under the Initiative.
Provide support to the implementation of integration and /or reintegration assistance.
Participate in the development of new monitoring and evaluation tools where appropriate, in close coordination with the country office”s monitoring and evaluation and information management units.
To support with the review the conditions of the business plan regarding the AVRR program and raise issues or discrepancies based on frequent monitoring activities.
In coordination with thematic leads in the country (awareness raising, reintegration…), conduct field and monitoring visits to the beneficiaries” business sites, including communities where community development initiatives are taking place and assess the impact of reintegration support provided.
To support with the documentation and filing of all beneficiaries in a database for reference and monitoring, including regular updates of beneficiaries’ information in the database.
Support the preparation and timely submission of monthly monitoring reports.
Provide general support for the assessment of qualitative and quantitative impact of grants and community projects.
Support with data cleaning and the preparation of M&E reports, carefully considering disaggregated gender, age and vulnerability data of the beneficiaries.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Be enrolled in an advanced tertiary education programme with relevant working experience in the position advertised
Have graduated with a university degree or a tertiary diploma
Skills
Excellent writing, analytical and communication skills.
Knowledge of other applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Kobo Collect tool and Visio is an advantage.
For this internship, fluency in English and one of the local languages is required.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.
IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the internship. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
