Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Protection Officer in and direct supervision of the Programme Officer (AVRR); and, in collaboration with relevant units at Country Office, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for supporting the management of the AVRR functions falling under his/her responsibilities, particularly Protection case management.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Independently assist and coordinate the implementation of the project; monitor implementation of the activities to ensure work is proceeding according to established plans; analyse implementation difficulties and make recommendations for adjusting implementation modalities and work plans to best reflect changing environment on the field.
Coordinate and monitor the financial, administrative and technical aspects of the project in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
Support the planning, coordination of and conduct capacity building workshops for relevant internal and external parties.
Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, narrative and financial reports; ensure status reports are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
Identify and document good practices and lessons learned; contribute to the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs), policies and concept papers and support the development of new projects.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
Experience in collaborating with government authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
Experience working on migration or the protection of vulnerable individuals, or issues related to international cooperation.
Prior experience working with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental or governmental institutions/organizations in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
Thorough knowledge of the Moroccan institutional system, the United Nations, and associative work in Morocco.
Experience in project management, monitoring, and evaluation.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) tools.
Experience with programme management tools such as MiMOSA and RiMS
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Analytical and synthesis skills.
Team spirit and the ability to work independently.
Be prepared to work flexible hours
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM’s official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English and French are required (oral and written), desirable working knowledge of Arabic.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
