This position is for the duty station of Milagro, Guayas.
Candidates residing in or near Milagro are strongly preferred due to the field-based nature of the role, although applicants from other locations are welcome to apply.
Essential Requirement – Driving Duties: This position requires the operation of official IOM vehicles to support project implementation and field activities. Possession of a valid national driver’s license and the ability to safely drive organizational vehicles are mandatory requirements and form an essential part of the role”s responsibilities.
The Project Assistant (Field Operations) supports the implementation of field-based project activities through administrative, operational, and coordination functions. The role assists with reporting, data management, budget monitoring, logistics, and stakeholder coordination to ensure the effective delivery of project objectives. The incumbent also supports the organization of events, trainings, and field missions.
1. Provide general/clerical assistance in the implementation of project activities.
2. Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
3. Assist in monitoring budget and updating budget related information.
4. Support administrative coordination for project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process, and follow-up on administrative actions.
5. Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations,
and other forms of documentation.
6. Support the organization of meetings, workshops and training sessions.
7. Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
8. Drive the official IOM vehicles as needed, and as requested by the supervisor and/or the office manager.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
