ABOUT LA CHAÎNE DE L’ESPOIR

 

La Chaîne de l’Espoir is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its mission is to strengthen healthcare systems to give everyone, especially children, the same chances of survival and development.

We work in 27 countries with a global approach, focusing on children, mothers and disadvantaged communities:

  • Prevention and screening from an early age, particularly through school health programs.
  • Care and surgery to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
  • Training and transfer of skills to local teams thanks to our international network of experts in all areas of surgery.
  • Construction and equipment of hospital facilities adapted to local needs.

 

CONTEXT

La Chaîne de l’Espoir started working in Iraq in 2005 implementing cardiac paediatric surgery through surgical mission, treatment of children in France, capacity building and equipment donations.

La Chaîne de l’Espoir implements projects in Sinjar, Mosul and Nasiriya :

  • Sinjar: Construction of the Sinjar French Medical Center (SFMC) in order to provide health care to men, women and children. This Medical Center will be equipped with a mother-child unit and will be able to provide outpatient consultations.
  • Mosul: Support and technical expertise for the reopening of the Mosul Research and Care Center (MRCC)
  • Nasiriya: Support and monitoring in the Nassiriya Heart Center (NHC)  to provide better patient care

 

POSITION AND MISSION

 

As a Logistics and Security Coordinator, you will be responsible for the implementation of the global strategy of the procurement, logistics and security tasks of the mission. You will develop, implement, and monitor appropriate measures according to La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s protocols, standards and procedures in order to participate in risk reduction strategy in the country. You will also be committed to the management of the the logistic staff.

More specifically you will be in charge of:

  • Facility management
  • Procurement
  • Stock management
  • Equipment management
  • Fleet management
  • Freight and transportation
  • Security and safety management
  • Team management
  • Internal control

Expériences / Formation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

EDUCATION

A certificate or degree in logistics, procurement, supply chain management, operations management, business administration, management or equivalent field is required.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 4-6 years of work experience with an international NGO in Iraq or abroad in a similar logistics/procurement and security position is preferred
  • A solid experience in operations and security management at field level (at least two years) is desirable
  • Knowledge about Iraq context, particularly the context of Ninawa and Sinjar is desirable

 

LANGUAGES

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of Arabic and/or Kurdish is desirable
  • French is an asset

 

PERSONAL QUALITIES

  • Adherence to humanitarian principle and La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s code of ethics
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with exceptional attention to details
  • Strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of the various local contacts
  • Knowledge of communication with local authorities in KRI and Federal Iraq
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Patience, flexibility and capacity of adaptation
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Package
  • Good interpersonal skills

Salaire

CONDITIONS

 

  • 12 months full time contract renewable, as an expatriate
  • Position based in Erbil with missions in all Iraq
  • Starting date: January 2024
  • Monthly gross salary from 2300€ upon experience
  • Monthly per diem and living allowance: 720 euros net
  • R&R: 5 days R&R at 3 and 9 months of contract
  • Travel: round trip ticket flight beginning/end of contract + paid leaves at 6 months of contract
  • Housing: individual with 100% of employer contribution
  • Medical coverage with 50% of employer contribution
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation insurance paid by the employer
  • Death and disability insurance paid by the employer
