In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.
ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.
Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.
The ITS Information Security and Risk Management (ITSSR) unit, headed by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), is responsible for providing leadership in managing the information security and risk functions and activities across the World Bank Group, enabling the achievement of WBG’s business objectives. ITSCB unit within ITSSR is seeking an experienced IT Analyst who will provide support to its content management and data analytics programs.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Manage and administer ITSCB’s SharePoint sites including:
  • Ensure sites’ functionality, security, and performance.
  • Monitor website traffic, analyze user behavior, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure contents of ITSCB websites are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new features and functionalities.
  • Design and build site collections and sites, including development of custom code where needed to meet complex business requirements.
  • Write efficient, secure and error free programs that meet the specified requirements, and conform to WBG quality, security, and coding standards.
  • Write code that is easy to maintain and reuse by other programmers, and reuse code written by others where appropriate.
  • Perform analysis to translate business requirements into technical requirements and demo solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain functional design documents and SOPs, issue logs, and change requests. Utilizes Team Foundation Server to track tasks and store code.
  • Research existing and emerging technologies to better enhance our SharePoint sites.
  • Provide overall support to ITSCB’s data analytics program which includes:
  • Identify, extract, integrate, and analyze multiple, complex data and data sets in support of ITSCB.
  • Develop scripts to extract data, automate processes, and integrate tools.
  • Provide expertise on data analysis, business intelligence tools, data visualization and systems analysis and design. Interprets data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports for ITSCB, ITS Support teams and Leadership Team.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that provide insights in support of IT operations, compliance, and cybersecurity.
  • Learn, understand, and become proficient in relevant WBG and external data sources and systems including ServiceNow, Splunk, RSAM, Tripwire. Utilize appropriate data sources, definitions, and integration for analysis as appropriate. Understand the limits of use for each data source as well as the differences between similar elements in different data sets.
  • Presentation of Data: Develop written and graphic presentations of information for WBG staff. Using creative and adaptive thinking skills, design and create a wide range of polished, engaging, innovative and relevant reports, briefs, presentations, and visualizations that present large amounts of information in ways that are universally understandable, easy to interpret, and communicate compelling stories to diverse audiences to inform decision-making and support quality and safety related improvement projects.
  • Solve complex business process and information requirements problems via a combination of analytic judgment, process automation (scripting), and proven analytic practices.
  • Research, identify, and define new process improvement initiatives and opportunities. Conduct trend and predictive analysis to drive innovative solutions to improve service delivery.
  • Leverage data visualization, scripting, and websites development to deliver a rich user experience, drive efficiency through business process automation, and enhance strategic decision-making by facilitating data-informed/driven decision-making.
  • Maintain and update requirement and technical documentation.
  • Be the anchor for ITSCB’s data analytics and website development and maintenance program in Chennai.
Selection Criteria:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, information technology, or a related field with 2 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience in SharePoint content management, scripting, data analysis and data visualization for a large enterprise.
  • Hands-on experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Power Automate, Python Scripting, SharePoint site development and content management highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint Taxonomy, Metadata, Content Management, Custom Web Parts, Reports, Search, InfoPath Services, Master Pages, Content Types, and Features, required.
  • Proficiency with common data science toolkits, such as R, SAS, SQL, Oracle, PowerBI to manipulate data and draw insights from large service management and cybersecurity data sets, required.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or PowerBI, to report, analyze and interpret service management and cybersecurity data and convey insights to disparate audiences, required.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation tools such as, python, R, ACL, power shell, power automate, required.
  • Experience in automating IT controls testing, process optimization and data manipulation, reports, and dashboards a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to think outside the box and be creative in visualizing data and website design.
  • Hands-on experience with building moderate to complex reports and dashboards utilizing CMDB, ITSM (Change, Incident, Problem, Release), Service Continuity, Compliance and Audit data using tools such as Splunk, Tableau, SharePoint, Power BI, etc.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multi-task requirements and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment is critical.
  • Ability to build and sustain cooperative and collaborative relationships in a multicultural team environment.
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills are highly desired.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency necessary to meet objectives and deadlines; self-starter, must have initiative.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize conflicting demands in high-pressure and time-critical situations.
  • Ability to work independently and within groups, must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build and sustain cooperative and collaborative relationships in a multicultural team environment.
