The Opportunity – IT Coordinator
Post location: Gaza Field Office
Contract Duration and Level of Effort: 1 year with the possibility of extension based on availability of funding.
ROLE PURPOSE:
IT Coordinator is responsible for the management and overseeing of all IT operations for the Gaza Field Office. They will be will be directly responsible for ensuring all Save the Children systems are up and running and all the IT polices are implemented while ensuring delivery of high quality IT services that capture, and enable the storage and processing of data.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

Staff reporting to this post: IT Officer, IT Assistant
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
IT Management:
• Responsible for all the IT operations in the Gaza Field Office.
• Perform necessary user services and support to all SCI staff including (Hardware/Software troubleshooting, staff supervision and devices installment and fixing like Printers-ADSLs-Fax-Photocopiers).
• Responsible for Electronic communication, such as creating new email accounts.
• Make sure that all the systems are protected from Computer viruses by installing and updating the AV systems in all the SCI computers and laptops.
• Apply all the IT Policies and make sure the IT Focal points and contractors are trained on how to apply that polices and they have the suitable training on that.
• Insure that all users are backup their data and the backup system are running without problems.
• Prepare estimated IT budgets.
• Give training for staff training on any new systems or polices.
• Supporting MENAEE regional IT manager in the IT operations within the region as necessary
Logistics, Programs and communications:
• Help the logistics/Program staff in any technical/IT related purchase by specify the minimum requirement in the PRs and analysing offers in any technical purchase committee.
• Work as a backup Editor for the Xtranet website and train the Communication staff on how to effectively use the Xtranet platform for distributing the information to all staff in the country.
• Helping the program staff and other department to prepare for any extra activities like conferences, meetings or negotiating for developing websites.
Coordination and Representation:
• Contact the county office and/or regional office (RITM) for any outstanding IT issues and replay to them in any of their requests.
• Attend any departments meetings.
• To ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Core Humanitarian Standards.
Supervise and manage programme staff
• Ensure that area staff have clearly defined objectives and understand their responsibilities.
• Incorporate staff development strategies and Performance Management Systems into team building process. Establish result based system and follow up
• Ensure availability of appropriate professional development opportunities for staff
• Encourage a team culture of learning, creativity and innovation.
Other
- Other projects as defined by the HRAM.
- Be prepared to vary day to day activities and work pattern/hours in humanitarian response situations.
- Position holder may be required to outside of normal duties and working hours during emergency responses.
In order to be successful, you will bring/have:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential:
- BSc in computers science or IT 4 year experience working in IT department for a medium to large scale organization or business and at least 3 year experience in managing the department.
- Very good working knowledge in technologies like (LAN, WAN, DHCP, VPN, IP, Wireless devices, IP Cameras, Servers, Backup devices).
- Strong experience on fixing computer problems and devices for laptops, desktops, Printers, Photocopiers, ADSLs, and Scanners.
- Willing to travel as needed to all our field offices in regular bases.
- Good reporting skills, Good communications-Training skills.
- Highly organized and working well under pressure.
- Fluent in writing and speaking of English and Arabic.
- Arabic language skills will be an asset
- Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
Desirable:
- Certificates like MCITP is a plus.
