Working as part of our IT Infrastructure and Applications support team, the IT Modern Workplace Engineer will be accountable for governing and maintaining cloud, infrastructure, and endpoint management platforms to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance in a secure, efficient, cost-effective manner. Reporting to the IT Director, IT Operations, this role is integral in maintaining day-to-day operational IT services whilst providing a customer centric approach to the operational support of Yooralla’s business critical IT services.
This position ensures that the platforms are maintained as high-quality fit-for-purpose systems that satisfy business expectations and comply with Yooralla’s standards. The position also provides guidance and technical expertise to cross functional teams, service providers and internal customers.
This position is located in Head Office, however travel to other Yooralla locations is required.

Key Responsibilities

Specific Role Responsibilities
- Design, build and manage highly secure, scalable, and available infrastructure and cloud-based infrastructure architectures.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to execute the organisation’s cloud, infrastructure and endpoint management strategy, aligning it with Yooralla’s objectives and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the selection, deployment, and management of cloud and infrastructure services, ensuring they meet Yooralla’s requirements and adhere to industry compliance and security standards.
- Monitor and maintain the organisation’s cloud, infrastructure and endpoint management services, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Implement robust standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry data privacy regulations, and Yooralla’s policies.
- Identify, asses, and prioritise remediation of potential vulnerabilities in endpoint systems.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation within the cloud, infrastructure and endpoint management, monitor expenses, and implement effective cost management strategies.
- Effective collaboration with internal and external teams, and business units, to ensure smooth integration of cloud solutions into existing systems and workflows.
- Effectively influence internal and external technical teams to deliver efficient and cost-effective cloud, infrastructure and endpoint management solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts and review of Yooralla’s processes, standards, and tools to maximise efficiency and ensure compliance is met.
- Help foster a culture of inclusivity in the workplace by prioritising digital accessibility and supporting employees with the tools that help them to access work however they need to. This includes reducing and removing barriers that stop people from being able to effectively interact with or access tools and technologies.
Selection Criteria
Mandatory Requirements
- Current National Police Record Check
- International Police Check (if required)
- Current driver’s licence to drive in Australia
Qualification Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a Technology discipline or significant relevant industry experience
- Relevant industry certifications in two of the following disciplines – Microsoft Server, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Endpoint Manager & Intune Azure, ITIL, Azure Virtual Desktop/ Citrix, Agile project management.
Professional Experience
- 8 + years’ experience managing and supporting a mid-sized IT environment across a wide range of technology.
- Extensive experience in technologies such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft 365 products and services.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft PowerShell and associated practices and tools.
- Significant industry experience transforming and improving technical architecture and IT services.
- Demonstrated industry experience managing and reducing cyber security risk including proven experience vulnerability management.
- Significant experience delivering technology-based projects and initiatives.
- Significant experience in a large complex ICT environment with a strong focus on providing cloud, infrastructure, or application support services to service levels.
- Sound understanding of industry standard information system support processes.
- Extensive understanding of information technology and industry trends.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and solution identification skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
- Excellent customer focus background with commercial awareness and strategic thinking capability.
