IT officer*
in Erbil
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until 31.12.2025. Employment location will be Erbil,in KRI. The position is paid according to SG5 ( 2,301,000 IQD) as Gross Salary .

The aims of the position are to ensure the functioning and security of the project’s/programme’s information technology components and systems.
Your responsibilities
- Duties and area of responsibility
2.1. Duties with own area of responsibility
- Maintain the project’s/programme’s hardware and software
- Ensure the functioning of all hardware (laptops, servers, desktop computers) in accordance with Welthungerhilfe standards
- Maintain printers, digital cameras, scanners and other hardware components
- Ensure smooth running of all software packages used at Welthungerhilfe office
- Continuously update all software to the latest versions
- Test new or upgraded software systems
- Record updates in hard and software (inventory)
- Solve hard and software related problems
- Ensure an emergency deputy service in case of absence
- In cooperation with the logistician, arrange for and follow up on external maintenance services
- Advise and train Welthungerhilfe staff in electronic data processing
- Recommend the purchase of new and upgrade of existing hardware/software components and systems
- Manage the installation and security of information technology components and systems
- Manage the overall administration of the IT system
- Install and maintain a local area network (LAN)
- Document installation and settings on the server and on each computer
- Establish proper back-up systems and ensure system security
- Periodically update anti-virus software

- Be part of the procurement / tender process for electronic equipment
- Fulfillment of any other tasks which are assigned by the management and correspond in general with the character of this position
2.3 Specific Activities and duties of the position
To be filled in or described individually by the Country Director or immediate superior
– Ensure the functionality and performance of the organization’s servers, laptops, and network.
– Oversee the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network systems.
– Implement security protocols to protect the organization’s data, network, and systems against unauthorized access and malware.
– Develop and maintain backup procedures for the Server.
– Provide technical assistance to staff for IT-related issues.
– Ensure software and systems are kept up-to-date with the latest security patches and updates.
– Support the Procurement department on purchasing hardware, software, and services based on the organization’s needs.
– Ensure the organization complies with relevant data protection and privacy regulation.
– Provide training for staff on using O365, TEAMs, and new software applications.
– Ensure all IT equipment (e.g., laptops, servers, printers, networking devices) is properly labeled with unique asset tags for tracking purposes.
– Regularly update and maintain an accurate inventory list of all IT equipment and software, including serial numbers, purchase dates, warranty details, and locations.
– Perform periodic check of IT assets to ensure that the inventory matches physical assets, identify discrepancies, and track equipment movement.
– Create and manage a process for reporting lost, stolen, or damaged IT equipment, including documenting the circumstances and responsible partie.
-Coordinate the disposal of outdated or non-functional IT equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

The contract for this position is 50% (part time contract) based in Erbil.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Professional/ formal qualification
- University degree
- 1 to 2 years’ professional experience working in similar position with relevant tasks and responsibilities
Foreign language skills
- Fluency in English ,Kurdish and Arabic (written and spoken),
