- Plans, organizes, and conducts activities in an effective manner towards achieving common objectives of IAC Elmdon as well as IAC Group.
- Reports deviations from the standard and takes appropriate measures and corrective actions.
- Strive to achieve the operational objectives (KPIs) of the IT Ops Team.
- Be engaged in implementation of the Groups IT Technical strategy.
- Responsible for maintaining the ICT infrastructure by:
- Control of the use of resources
- File system archiving
- Controlling the storage space occupancy
- Responsible for action to maintain the desired level of security through:
- Current support for user requests
- Allowing the use of distinguished system resources
- Blocking or unblocking accounts
- Creating and deleting user accounts
- Notifies users about changes in the system on an ongoing basis
- Assigns IP addresses
- Manages the internal network
- Carries out preventive actions to protect the system by:
- Password management
- Protection of system files
- Protection of system catalogues
- Protection against all threats caused by own system mechanisms
- Co-identifies with the Firewall and VPN server administrator for network security and user management.
- Responsible for responding to the current needs of employees ensuring the continuity of their work by:
- Starting and stopping the systems as required
- Removing blocked processes
- Removing failures related to ICT systems and equipment
- Diagnosing more serious failures before transferring to service
- Removing the causes of network failures
- Reconstruction of the file system
- Installing printers
- Installing useful software packages.
- Co-corresponds for the selection of specifications for IT hardware/software and provides technical support for the purchasing department.
- Supports the implementation and ongoing operation of MES by solving current system problems.
- Responsible for keeping documentation and updating for all support systems.
- Support ERP systems across UK sites (Basic Functions)
- Build and deployment of User and system Computers
- Build and deployment of servers
- Ensures Backup procedures are adhered to
- Administer Virtual clusters (VMware)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in automotive production sector in an IT department or 5 years’ experience in an IT department in production sector
- Master or Engineer degree in IT
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-player with a high level of personal integrity
- Ability to work effectively with personnel across borders and functions
- Must be able to manage several tasks/activities across several different teams that are occurring at the same time
- Competent and experienced within a high-volume automotive environment, coupled with the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
