What we want

We are seeking an IT Professional II to join our team! In this role, you will, under general direction, perform advanced troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving for unit-level support in multiple technical fields.

What you need to know:

Salary: Commensurate on selected candidate’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience AND three years information technology/telecommunications support experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with a range of people.

  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in information technology or related field.

  • Supporting technology systems such as MacOS, Windows, Imaging via SCCM, Active Directory; mobile devices, workstation setup, consultation, vendor hardware replacement, usage of ticketing system (Team Dynamix), surplus technology – data backup/erasure.

  • Effective communication via verbal/written, cross-disciplined IT skills – hardware/software, detail documentation, report writing skills, intermediate troubleshooting, client relations and operational procedures. Ingenuity, formulating, and contributing ideas.

  • Knowledge of ITIL, project management and enthusiasm for growth.

  •  ITIL Foundations Certification.

  • CompTIA A+ Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Tier Two Support: Supervise and train/develop new and current part time and intern technicians on proper use of hardware and software for both Microsoft Windows and Apple products. Create new and/or update training materials as needed on the school’s knowledge base and our IT Office training manuals. Point of contact for student coordinators for escalation and resolution of problem tickets.

  • Computer Setup and Maintenance: Supports computer operations using SCCM, JAMF, or Nomad to setup and install upgrades. Configure IT equipment for faculty, staff, classrooms, computer labs, and office computers. Applies quality standards and ensures all work is accurate and in compliance with department quality standards.

  • Help Desk: Uses Team Dynamix, the school’s help request system, to communicate with end users, track, and resolve incidents, and run reports. Provides assistance to basic and complex help desk requests. Assist employees in complex help desk problem management procedures.

  • Consultation: Supports the faculty and staff workstation purchasing process by meeting with the faculty or staff members and advising them of the products available. Assists in specifying the system requirements and peripherals and sets up new systems. Provides an orientation of the new systems for the end user.  

  • Professional Growth: Stays current with new technologies, research, and best practices that impact instruction, teaching, learning, and the delivery of support services. Stays abreast of and proactively supports current research, legislation and policies related to accessibility, copyright, security, privacy and other issues that impact information technology in higher education.
