Job Title: IT Project ManagerJob Type: Full Time, PermanentWorking Location: London/Peterborough, HybridRole PurposeWe’re looking for a delivery focused Project Manager to join the IT team at Travelex. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful IT project delivery, across a variety of technologies and delivery methodologies. To succeed in this role, you’ll thrive in a complex and challenging environment, with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.Experience of working within a technology modernisation strategy is a bonus, but not essential. Likewise, experience of working in a financial institution would be an advantage.You will have experience in managing the entire project lifecycle, from initiation through to completion. Well versed in project budget ownership, considerations, risk and issue management, communications, processes and compliance requirements, and have successfully delivered. You will have the ability to navigate complex issues and unclear processes. You will have influencing skills to gain agreement from relevant stakeholders on the “To Be” vision. This is a hands-on role, you’ll be sent in to investigate and solve issues or new challenges, so we’re looking for someone who wants to get stuck in.The role is wide and varied, giving you access to a range of stakeholders across the global Travelex business as part of a high profile and high performing team.What will you be doing?Work with business and technical product owners to identify scope items for delivery.Support with analysis of new product developments, understand the business problems and opportunities to fix those problems.Collect, understand and ratify the scope of functional and non-functional requirements (in use cases) and ensure stakeholder alignment.Develop detailed and realistic project plans to guide stakeholders, colleagues and project team members, then evolve them based on changing needs and requirements.Calculate project budgets, then manage them throughout the delivery lifecycle.Develop compelling business cases and build project teams to deliver them.Monitor project performance to ensure delivery against agreed plan and budget.Represent the project(s) on appropriate Programme Boards and Steering Committees.Compile and submit regular project status reports.Work effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation.Demonstrate excellent leadership, colleague relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.Champion IT delivery best practice in all aspects of the role.What makes you the right person?First and foremost a willingness to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in, an ability to engage and to lead by example.Demonstrable experience of successful IT Project Management Delivery.Knowledge of different project/development methodologies, concepts and practices.Ability to identify, and manage, risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.Strong relationship building / development skills (internal and external) with proven experience interacting directly with end users and subject matter experts.High attention to details, well-organised and capable of handling multiple objectives and stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various audiences.Excellent planning and organisational skills.Ability to understand the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term (“quick wins”).Recognised Project Management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2).Advanced experience of tools such as: MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, JIRA, Confluence etc.Why Travelex?To remain the world’s leading foreign exchange specialist, we are focused on making our customers’ lives simpler, more engaging and hassle free while they travel or move money abroad.
