As the Security Operations Incident Response Associate, you will gain hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for identifying, investigating, and responding to security incidents.
This position is part of Princeton’s Office of Informational Technology (OIT) Summer Experience Program. OIT is excited to welcome a cohort of undergraduate students to learn, explore, and gain professional experience in a variety of technical and administrative roles. All positions are sponsored by one of the six major departments within OIT, each specializing in a different area of information technology.
This is a temporary position.
What you’ll be doing:
- Monitoring and analyzing alerts from various security tools and networks
- Conducting incident analysis and investigation
- Documenting and manage incident cases
- Collaborating with other teams to mitigate security risks
- Participating in the development and improvement of incident response plans and procedures
Skills you bring to the table:
- Strong interest in cybersecurity
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of network protocols, software development, operating systems, and security concepts is a plus
Skills you will gain:
- A deep understanding of cybersecurity operations and incident response processes
- Hands on experience with security tools and the chance to learn from experienced professionals in the field

OIT is accepting applications for summer experience positions through March 29. All applications should include a cover letter, resume (or CV), transcripts from previous academic programs, and two letters of recommendation.
