IT Specialist

As IT Specialist (Data Architecture), you will design and implement scalable data architectures to drive our data strategy capabilities. You will ensure that the data infrastructure is future-proofed for emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven needs.

You will analyze complex data sets, measure insights, and create critical data pipelines to ensure insightful dashboards and analysis.

You will:

• Design and implement scalable and future-ready data architectures that support operational systems, analytics, AI/Machine Learning (ML) workloads, and enterprise reporting.
• Contribute to strengthening the Data Governance to ensure data consistency, integrity, and accessibility based on defined data standards and procedures for ensuring high-quality data.
• Contribute to design and implement Master Data Management frameworks to establish and maintain trusted data across multiple domains.
• Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and organizational policies.
• Architect end-to-end data solutions, integrating data from diverse sources, including cloud platforms and diverse data formats such as Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), databases, and streaming systems. Establish Data Contracts and related processes.
• Develop frameworks and architectures for data marketplaces to ensure seamless data sharing and democratization across the organization and externally.
• Design and improve cloud data platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Azure Fabric), and emerging cloud technologies to ensure scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Lead architecture reviews, ensuring alignment with best practices, frameworks, and standards. Collaborate with teams to guide data-driven decision-making.
• Lead the integration of AI and ML capabilities into data architecture, ensuring advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and intelligent automation. Enhance the data platform to support AI-driven use cases, including data preparation, feature engineering, model deployment, and monitoring of AI solutions.
• Establish methods and procedures for tracking the health of the data platform with its pipelines, data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement.
• Work with ITD Leadership Team and stakeholders to define and align the data strategy, ensuring it supports ADB’s broader vision and goals.
• Mentor data engineers, data modelers, and other technical teams in building high-quality data solutions.

Qualifications:

You will need:

• A University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, computer engineering or a related field; preferably at post-graduate level or its equivalent
• At least 6 years work experience in Data Architecture, with international experience working in several countries.
• With experience leading complex data programs and delivering business-driven outcomes.
• Solid understanding of cloud computing fundamentals with experience in Microsoft Azure and Azure Fabric.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure, Data Governance, or Data Architecture are preferred.
• Experience in API design, solid knowledge of data processing languages, such as SQL, Python, or Scala, and understanding of parallel processing, and virtualization.
• Familiarity with data security protocols, data masking, encryption, role-based access control, embedded data security practices, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all solutions.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Written and verbal proficiency in English.
