Ball State University Foundation is seeking an IT Support Technologist with customer service skills and a strong background in providing advanced technical support for technology resources including Windows and macOS computers, mobile devices, networks, and software applications with an emphasis on troubleshooting, maintenance, and system integration.

The person filling this role should expect to support a wide range of Foundation technologies. This role will assist clients in person and via phone.

Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Support Technologist is a strategic partner within the Ball State University Foundation and Advancement Services teams, utilizing technical understanding and expertise to provide technology support to Foundation staff. Reporting to the Division of Information Technology, the IT Support Technologist provides desktop, platform, and systems support; manages computer replacement plan; and maintains Alumni Center AV equipment as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; OR
  • Associate’s degree and two years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. OR
  • High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years.

At least two years of experience supporting desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, networks and software applications with an emphasis on troubleshooting and system maintenance; working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Office suite of applications.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects; self-starter; detail oriented; excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer technology, information systems, computer science or related area.

  • Additional years of technology support experience.
  • Experience in higher education advancement information systems.
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining information security controls.
  • Experience gathering requirements and establishing universal definitions in support of key performance indicators, metrics, and other related measures.
  • Experience in a PCI compliant environment.
  • Experience in a fundraising environment.
  • Supervisory experience.

Ability to strategically plan for systems integrations and deployment of IT products and services.
