Duties and Responsibilities The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization for trade-related technical cooperation in developing countries. It is the only multilateral agency fully dedicated to supporting the internationalization of SMEs. ITC”s mission is to foster inclusive and sustainable growth and development through trade and international business development. ITC Headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland. ITC projects and programs contribute to the global efforts to achieve UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development and the Aid for Trade agenda. In this context, ITC serves as the implementing partner for the European Union-funded project, “Uganda: Sustainable Business for Uganda 2.0

• Trade and Investment Development”, which aims to boost Uganda’s economic performance through developing green, inclusive and technological dimensions of trade and investment. This framework will respond to current and emerging needs as well as opportunities to improve the performance of export sectors with a focus on greening value chains, generating sustainable investment, and stimulating job creation. The overall objective of this action is to contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic growth and decent and green job creation in Uganda. The specific objective of this action is to facilitate and promote inclusive sustainable and green trade and investment between Uganda and the European Union. The outputs to be delivered by this action contributing to the corresponding specific objective are: Output 1 – Strengthened policy framework and public and private stakeholders’ capacities for enhanced trade competitiveness in selected sectors and value chains Output 2 – Improved investment framework and opportunities Output 3 – Enhanced trade facilitation framework and tools Output 4 – Strengthened quality compliance and standards in selected value chains Output 5 – Strengthened e-commerce ecosystem, BSOs and MSMEs ITC plans to recruit an E-commerce Associate Adviser in Uganda to support ITC in the effective implementation of Output 5. The duties of E-commerce Associate Adviser will include day-to-day coordination of ITC technical support with respect to strengthening e-commerce ecosystem, BSOs and MSMEs, stakeholder engagement and communication. Description of Duties/Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of E-commerce Program Officer in ITC Geneva, and in close collaboration with the national project team, the E-commerce Associate Adviser will perform the following functions: 1. Support the scale-up of e-commerce activities by contributing to stakeholder engagement, outreach, and facilitation of partnerships with e-commerce ecosystem actors at district level. 2. Contribute to assessments and data collection on MSME e-commerce readiness in new districts; prepare short notes, background material, and inputs to technical documents. 3. Assist in maintaining relationships with project stakeholders, beneficiaries, and ecosystem partners to ensure progress of implementation activities; provide regular updates to ITC project team in Uganda. 4. Support visibility and communication of e-commerce activities by preparing short success stories, quotes from MSMEs, and draft content for social media or newsletters. 5. Provide administrative and substantive support to the design and roll-out of MSME training and coaching sessions, including calls for application, participant mobilization, logistics support, and preparation of background documents. 6. Assist with field activities and missions in collaboration with technical experts, including coordination with BSOs, local authorities and MSMEs. 7. Support the engagement of the e-commerce community of practice, including sharing opportunities, training announcements and updates through dedicated online channels. 8. Coordinate with the project team on training logistics, including support with organization of quarterly meetups and learning sessions. Qualifications/special skills Undergraduate degree (BA/BSC or other) Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.

• At least 3 years of experience in technical and administrative assistance and private sector support, preferably in the area of e-commerce.
• Experience in support of partnerships development between private sector and institutional stakeholders is desirable. Skills
