The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, dedicated to supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). As global trade becomes more volatile and interconnected, ITC seeks to build internal capacity to think long-term, explore, anticipate, prepare for, and shape future developments for ITC through the application of Strategic Foresight. In this context, an International Consultant will deliver training on this topic. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The International Consultant will work under the overall supervision of the Chief, Human Resources, and is expected to: Design and deliver practical and engaging online session(s), practicing the application of strategic foresight thinking and strategic foresight tools in the context of a specific question: ‘the future of Trade Related Technical Assistance’. The training will equip personnel with in-depth knowledge of strategic foresight methodologies and tools such as referenced by the UN Futures Lab, and their application in the context of this question. All training participants will have completed the UNSSC’s “Strategic Foresight Fundamentals” online course prior to this training. The Consultant has to ensure that s/he has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform his/her services under this consultancy contract and for subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the Consultant shall request prior written permission from ITC. S/he has further to ensure obtain accreditation to event(s), if required.
